Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of vola about your use of the vola mobile app and this website.
Accepting these terms
By downloading, opening, or using vola, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
Who can use vola
vola is not directed to children under 13, and you may not use it if you are younger than 13. If you are old enough to use vola but are a minor where you live, you may use it only with the agreement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
Your account
You can use vola anonymously, or sign in with Apple or Google. Signing in lets your diaries follow you to a new device; using vola anonymously ties them to the device instead, and losing that device can mean losing them.
You are responsible for keeping access to your device and to the Apple or Google account you signed in with. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone else has reached your vola account.
Your content
Your diaries are yours. Everything you write, draw, photograph, and arrange in vola remains your content, and nothing here transfers ownership of it.
To run the service, we need your permission to do a narrow set of things with that content: store it, back it up, sync it between your devices, and display it back to you. You grant us a licence to do exactly that and nothing more. It lasts only as long as you keep the content in vola and ends when you delete it.
We do not use your diary content to train machine learning models, we do not use it to target advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone except the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy, who process it on our behalf.
You are responsible for the content you put in vola. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use — including photographs of other people who have not agreed to it.
Looking back
vola can write a short summary of a goal you have finished. This feature is optional and runs only when you ask for it, one request at a time. When you do, the diary text belonging to that goal is sent to Anthropic, our model provider, to produce the summary.
The summary is generated text. It can be inaccurate, and it is not a judgement of your progress or a substitute for what your teacher tells you. We ask for your agreement the first time you use it.
Health data
If you allow it, vola reads workouts from Apple Health or Health Connect so you can log them without retyping. It reads them only when you ask it to, only the workouts you pick, and never in the background.
Health data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared beyond what is needed to store the workout on your own diary page. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings.
Purchases
vola is free to download. Where vola offers paper refills, calendar themes, sticker packs, or a subscription, they are sold through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. Those stores take the payment, set the price in your currency, and own the refund policy — so refund requests go to Apple or Google, not to us.
We use RevenueCat to verify what you have bought and to restore your purchases on a new device. Store items are a licence to use them inside vola; they are not resellable and they do not transfer outside the app.
Subscriptions, where offered, renew automatically until you cancel them in your store account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
Advertising
vola shows ads, supplied through Google AdMob. Where the law requires a choice about personalised advertising, vola asks for it and you can change your answer later under Ad privacy settings in the app.
We do not give advertisers your diary content, your health data, or your account details. What is shared with the ad network is described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use vola to store or share anything unlawful, and do not use it to harass anyone. Do not try to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source of the app except where the law expressly permits it. Do not attack, overload, or probe our servers, and do not use automated means to scrape the service.
We may suspend an account that does any of these things.
Changes to vola
We add features, change them, and sometimes remove them. We may also change these terms. When a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use vola after that means accepting the new terms.
We may stop offering vola entirely. If we do, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your diaries first.
Ending your use of vola
You can stop using vola at any time, and you can delete your account and its contents from inside the app or by emailing [email protected]. Deletion is described in full in the Privacy Policy.
We may end your access if you materially break these terms. If we do, you keep whatever rights the law gives you regardless of this agreement.
Disclaimers and liability
vola is provided as is. We do our best to keep it working and your diaries safe, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of data loss. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot bear to lose — the app can save a finished page to your photo library.
vola is a diary, not advice. Nothing in it is medical, physiotherapeutic, or training advice. The dictionary shows how a step is performed; it does not know your body. Consult your teacher and, for injuries, a qualified professional.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for vola in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes it away.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be heard by the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country where your local law gives you that right.
